Snipes Farm Day Camp: Joy Every Day!

By Melanie Douty-Snipes, Camp Director January 26, 2026

Summer may feel far away, but for our education staff's plans for the 2026 season are well on their way! Set on 80 beautiful acres filled with woods, creeks, fields, and gardens, our camp offers kids and teens ages 6-15 a truly magical place to explore and have fun with friends. New this year is a team-building course installed this winter by Experiential Systems, thanks to the generosity of Foundations Community Partnerships!

Every day at camp, adventure is waiting to happen. From the first eyeful of the farm, campers see towering trees, friends playing gaga, and the ducks in their pools. We begin and end every day altogether, and in between, there are times with our "bunks" (age groups) and have mixed ages choice time in the afternoons. There’s so much to do! From cooking, fort building, and creating art to practicing archery and cooling down in the creek. Nature is our constant teacher, and learning happens around every bend. “My favorite part of camp was taking care of the bunnies,” shared Cora, age 6.

What really makes Snipes Farm Camp special is the amazing community we’ve built over the past 18 years. Our caring and talented counselors and staff create a warm, welcoming environment where every camper feels safe and supported. Last summer, a camper shared with their mom, “There are kids just like me,” and for the first time in their life, this camper had made friends! Another camper shared, “My favorite thing has to be the community and the friends. Every year I have to come back so I can see my friends.” One camp mom shared that they keep coming back to Snipes Farm camp because there’s plenty of “fresh food, fun, songs, games, and learning. She’s been here for three or four years, and every year as soon as the early bird pricing comes out, I’m ready to sign her up!”

The Camp Leadership Program (CLP) for youth ages 13-15 combines camp activities with service and leadership opportunities. They do Citizen Science projects, special tasks with the farmers, help to make camp snacks, and are big brothers and sisters to younger campers. "It is wonderful to see campers become leaders, discovering gifts and skills that they didn't know that they had," says Melanie Douty-Snipes, Camp Director.

If your child loves the outdoors, Snipes Farm Day Camp is the place to be. They will find adventure, laughter, and make lasting memories and friends!

The 8% Early bird discount ends March 1st and 4% discount runs until May 1st.  Learn about more discounts and pricing here: https://www.snipesfarm.org/summer/daycamp/registration.html
